Color Contacts

Your suitability for contact lenses

Your optometrist will investigate how suitable your eyes will be for contact lenses by closely inspecting the front surface of the eyes. An orange coloured dye will be inserted which highlights the quality of your tears, cornea, conjunctiva and eyelids. This dye is harmless and will wash out with your tears within a few minutes. You will be asked general life style questions such as whether there are any occasions you would rather not wear your glasses. All information from the eye examination will be collated to ensure a suitable contact lens can be placed onto your eyes. Once a final contact lens prescription has been established you will be taught how to manage your contact lenses to achieve the best vision and guidelines for eye care with contact lens wear will be provided.

Innovations in contact lens design.

It's amazing how many people rule themselves out of wearing contact lenses because they don't think they have a suitable prescription. Technological advances in contact lenses are amongst the fastest moving in optics so it's a rare occurrence when we can't find the perfect lens to suit any eye - even those that require progressives!

The benefits of wearing contact lenses can be huge, removing your glasses gives you a completely new look, greater freedom for outdoor activities and sports as well as liberation from the constant question 'where are my reading glasses?' These benefits shouldn't be considered as only available for the few, advancements in optical sciences and design mean they are now available for almost everyone.

Using complex design elements developed over years of research, the contact lenses do all the hard work, meaning that your eyes will instinctively use the correct power of the lens to provide crisp, clear vision.
